I know I haven’t said much lately and for that I apologize, but in the meantime, here are my thoughts from last year’s holiday season, good for this year too.
I was doing rite to Hathor, the Lady of Love, today (i.e. December 16), and something came to me. Maybe it isn’t earth-shattering, but I wanted to share it with you guys.
Let’s not lose sight of this during the holiday season.
Whether you think the reason for the season is Jesus, Yahweh or coaxial tilt, isn’t the real reason for the season love? Love to whatever deity you pray to (if you don’t pray to anyone, no worries, just keep reading), love to family, love to friends? Isn’t that why we send cards and give gifts at this time of year?
So I wish you all, my readers, love. Go out and spread love to everyone you meet. ‘Tis the season.
Happy Holidays!
I think it’s entirely possible to spread love and gratitude to friends and family during the holiday season without having to tolerate ideas that you find intolerable. I think there’s a significant difference between not tolerating a person and not tolerating a person’s ideas. In fact, I’d say the holidays (or gatherings in general) are a perfect opportunity to spread progressive messages with those who you care about and wish to see intellectually grow, instead of simple acceptance of rubbish philosophy for the sake of agreeableness.

Of course. Tolerance is one of our watchwords here at Kemetic vs. Atheist, but everyone draws the line, beyond which they will not be tolerant, at a different place. I elaborate on this subject in this post: https://louiseparelobinske.wordpress.com/2015/10/18/the-difference-between-tolerance-and-respect/. Thank you for commenting.
